All good wishes to those who observe Easter

I was grown before I learned about the eastern european blessing of the Easter basket, with its carefully enumerated collection of symbolic elements. Some years I learn of the new (to me) ones that niche cultures traditionally add in, along with the more obvious objets.

A "proper" basket would include: paska (Easter bread), ham, lamb, kielbasa, beet dressing, horseradish, boiled eggs (mono-color dyed), pysanky (decorated eggs, not for eating), an argument of cheese (usually a soft kind?), butter and salt. Also an embroidered cloth to over it all up. The basket gets blessed Sunday morning, & then returned home for eating. Evidently it's a Polish custom to mold your butter into a lamb for/on the occasion. You can buy pre-made ones, but (pace timing issues!) where's the fun in that?
